WHAT DOES THE RESTORATION HABITAT ORANGUTANS INDONESIA (RHOI) DO?

PT Restorasi Habitat Orangutan Indonesia (RHOI) is a limited company officially established on April 21, 2009 under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Domiciled at Jl. Kumbang 31, Bogor, West Java, the majority shareholder (95,965%) is the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF), who established RHOI for the specific purpose of acquiring Ecosystem Restoration Concessions (ERC) in which to release rehabilitated orangutans from the BOSF orangutan rehabilitation centres in East Kalimantan.

WHERE DOES RHOI WORK?

On the island of Borneo, at East Kalimantan Province and we are currently running the habitat of the largest primate conservation program in the world.

WHAT HAS RHOI ACHIEVED THUS FAR?

In the nearly 15 years since our inception in 2009, we have helped provide natural habitat for 130 rehabilitated orangutans and will grow in number over the next few years. Since 2016, we have had at least 10 natural births in the forest and some orangutans have successfully formed new colonies. We are also working to protect and rehabilitate nearly 86,593.65 hectares of rainforest.
